KCCA LAW ENFORCEMENT TEAM CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING
PUBLISHED — 18th, July 2023The last cohort of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Law Enforcement Team proudly celebrated their pass out ceremony on July 15, signifying the successful completion of their rigorous training program.
Comprising 88 individuals, this cohort underwent comprehensive training in various areas including patriotism, leadership philosophy, political education, logical thinking, social-economic transformation, and performance management, among others.
The pass out ceremony took place at the esteemed National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi, where the team had been diligently training. Notably, the previous cohort of 72 individuals also underwent training at the same facility and had their pass out ceremony last month.
Dressed immaculately in army green uniforms, the enforcement officers displayed their newly acquired skills during the ceremony. They performed various drills and demonstrated self-defense techniques, leaving the audience impressed by their proficiency in stripping and assembling an AK-47 gun. This demonstration underscored the significance of preventing firearm misuse by criminals and ensuring public safety.
During her address, KCCA Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka encouraged the law enforcement officers to uphold trade order. With their enhanced skills and unwavering dedication, these officers are entrusted with maintaining trade order and fostering a safe and thriving environment in crucial areas of the city such as markets, taxi parks, and roads.
Kisaka also emphasized the officers' vital role in transforming Kampala into a Smart City, prioritizing technology, infrastructure development, and the overall well-being of the people. The pass out ceremony marked a significant milestone in the officers' journey towards professional excellence and their commitment to contributing to the development and prosperity of Kampala.
Kisaka expressed her gratitude to the management of the National Leadership Institute for their invaluable contribution to the country's transformation agenda. She lauded the facility for its exceptional stewardship and acknowledged the facilitators' efforts in tailoring the training program to meet the specific needs of KCCA.
State Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs, Kabuye Kyofatogabye, was represented at the ceremony by Lubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Anderson Burora.
In his address, Burora expressed confidence in the law enforcement team's abilities and commended the first cohort, already deployed in the city, for their transformative impact and dedication to their duties and responsibilities.
Brig Charles Kisembo, the Director of the National Leadership Institute (NALI), delivered a commendation to the enforcement officers, recognizing their exceptional resilience and highlighting the profound importance of ideological transformation and leadership development in their role.
Brig Kisembo emphasized the significance of ideological transformation in shaping the mindset and values of the enforcement officers. He underscored the need for them to uphold a strong sense of patriotism and commitment to serving the community, fostering an environment of trust and respect.
As Kampala progresses on its journey to becoming a Smart City, KCCA remains committed to supporting its officers and providing them with the necessary training to meet the evolving needs of the city. The celebration of the second cohort's successful completion of training further solidifies KCCA's vision for a transformed and prosperous Uganda.
