- Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has allocated funds to be used for the Acquisition of Vacant Land for the Establishment of a Waste Management Facility for Kampala Capital City. Kampala Capital City Authority now invites eligible bidders/landowners to submit sealed expressions of interest.
- Interested bidders should provide information demonstrating that they are eligible and possess the land supported with relevant documentation.
- The short listing criteria shall be; For Individuals A copy a valid National ID (for land owner), Letter of Introduction from the Chairman LC 1(for land owner) and Physical address of the individual in question. For companies; Certificate of Incorporation/Registration, Registered Powers of Attorney, Trading License
Technical criteria;
- Not less than 200 Acres
- Land owners must have clear, unencumbered and absolute title (evidence of ownership)
- The land should be located not more than 30km from the Central Business District
- The land should have a gentle slope (5-15%) to facilitate natural drainage and minimize flooding risks
- There should be at least a distance of 200m from the boundary of the land to the residential areas, schools, hospitals and other sensitive land uses.
- The land should not be in a rectangular format.
- The land should not be located in environmentally sensitive areas such as wetlands
- Not located where major highways would be used to ferry the waste – these include Entebbe Road and Expressway, Masaka Road, Jinja Road, Mpigi Expressway, Bombo Expressway and Jinja Expressway
- The land should not be prone to waterlogging or flooding, protected zones or near water bodies.
- Proximity to existing infrastructures such as drainage, power and water supply is an added advantage.
- Interested bidders/landowners may obtain further information at the address given below from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on working days excluding public holidays.
- The Expression of interest shall be submitted using the one-stage single envelope method.
