KCCA HOST NAMIBIAN DELEGATION

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on Thursday February 20 hosted a delegation from the Namibian government, who were on a benchmarking visit to Uganda.

The meeting held at City Hall, aimed at sharing knowledge and experiences in urban governance, monitoring, evaluation, budgeting, and revenue mobilization.

The Namibian delegation led by Roux Sempati showed particular interest in KCCA’s monitorng and evaluation process practices.

Manongwa Sikanda, Director Regional, Sectoral, Planning and Policy Coordination, shared insights into Namibia's experiences in monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and national budgeting.

KCCA officials, represented by Alex Ssebagala, shared Uganda's experiences in managing urban development and service delivery in Kampala.

Ssebagala emphasized KCCA’s commitment to improving governance and service delivery through innovative approaches, including the use of digital tools for revenue collection and project monitoring.

Both delegations emphasized the importance of effective budgeting, robust monitoring and evaluation systems, and innovative revenue generation strategies for sustainable development.

They also highlighted the need for alignment between national development plans and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
