KCCA AND ORTHODOX CHURCH PLEDGE TO CONTINUE WORKING TOGETHER FOR CITY DEVELOPMENT

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the Orthodox Church in Uganda have pledged to continue their partnership to improve the lives of the people of Kampala. In a meeting held at the KCCA headquarters on Monday, the Executive Director of KCCA Dorothy Kisaka and the Archbishop of the Orthodox Church in Uganda His Grace Metropolitan Jeronmos Muzeeyi, discussed various issues affecting the city.

Kisaka expressed her gratitude for the work that the Orthodox Church has been doing in Uganda, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between different religious groups in order to achieve common goals, and pledged the continued support of KCCA to the church.

Muzeeyi on his part thanked Kisaka for the warm reception and expressed his willingness to work closely with KCCA to address some of the challenges facing the people of Kampala. He also spoke of the need for an integrated approach to development which can only be achieved through partnerships between stakeholders.

The partnership between KCCA and the Orthodox Church has already borne fruit, with KCCA providing support to the Holy Cross Hospital and Namungoona Orthodox Primary School. The Orthodox Church has also benefited from road infrastructure development, safety and security services and support for modern waterborne toilets. The two organizations aim to continue working together to improve the lives of the people of Kampala.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with the two leaders exchanging gifts and reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration between KCCA and the Orthodox Church in Uganda. The event was attended by senior officials from KCCA and members of the Orthodox Church in Uganda.
